UBC'S Indigenous Student Society
integrating Indigenous forms of knowledge and practice into the Alma Mater Society (AMS)

The land, water, air, and beings holding the Institution of The University of British Columbia (UBC), as well as the Indigenous Student Society (ISS) is on the unceded, illegally occupied, unextinguished territory of the hən̓ q̓ əmin̓əm̓ speaking xwməθkwəy̓əm people. So-called Point Grey has been under the care and guidance of xwməθkwəy̓əm since time immemorial, and we must look to their self-governance, stewardship, and decisions relating to their territory. The shared territory of greater Vancouver belongs to our host nations of xwməθkwəy̓əm, Squamish, and Tsleil-waututh.
